Join us for a Design Thinking Workshop to tackle the OpenIDEO Nike Design With Grind Challenge: “How might we create a waste-free, circular future by designing everyday products using Nike Grind materials?”
We want to hear what you can do with Nike Grind, a palette of premium recycled materials recovered from used footwear and manufacturing scrap.
During this workshop, you will:
• Create new products/services with Nike Grind for the OpenIDEO Challenge.
• Have guidance from an all-star cast of experts ready to share expertise and mentorship.
• Have insider access to real Nike Grind Materials on site.
• Have assistance from the OpenIDEO Berlin Chapter team on refining your submission to potentially win the Challenge with a prize funding pool of $50,000.
Nike believes the science is right, climate change is real, and we must take action now to power and protect the future of sport. This will require sustainable innovation, and a transition to a circular economy — a world in which materials can be used and reused at their highest potential.
How To Join The Workshop: We have 50 limited spots available for the most engaged and enthusiastic changemakers. Based on each individual’s background and talents, we will form cross-functional teams where each member has complementary skills.

This event is part two of a two-part event series. The leading up event ‘Reuse Remake Recycle’ launches two days earlier, which is an open panel discussion with leaders in the sphere of circular economy. This open panel event helps to frame the Nike Design With Grind Challenge and provides useful insights and learnings that will prove useful for this workshop.
